Yale Italy

The Yale Lock tradition began around 1840 when Linus Yale Sr. opened up a lock shop specializing in expensive handmade bank locks. Linus Yale Jr. introduced the Monitor Bank Lock marking the transition from key-based bank locks to dial or combination ones. Today Yale is the brand behind locks of every design and function in over 125 countries.

In August 2000 Yale was purchased by the ASSA ABLOY Group, and has since then been an important part of the global leader in door opening solutions.

In 1996 Yale acquired CORNI which is today a well established brand offering mechanical and electromechanical locks and panic exit devices for both residential and commercial buildings.
